Ballot Information

  • Counsel students from a variety of backgrounds who have varying abilities and mental health issues.
  • Recipient, MVCC People Who Make A Difference Award letters (2016, 2017).
  • Helped write the MVFA Statement
against the Suspension of DACA and in Support of all DREAMers (2017).
  • Teach COL 101 and HDV courses.
  • Serve as chair of the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness committee (2014 – Present). 
  • Coordinator of domestic violence and sexual assault prevention, education, and awareness campaigns on campus since 2007.
  • Collaborated with the LRC faculty and through their One Book, One College Program adopted a text on campus sexual assault and helped organize 12 public programs around this sensitive yet timely topic (2017-2018).
  • Represented MVCC and facilitated a 90 minute breakout session on Moraine’s sexual assault initiatives at the American College Counseling Association Conference in Charlotte, NC (2018).
  • Designated Title IX Confidential Advisor (2016 – Present) who as a trained professional is available to survivors to counsel, answer questions, provide information, and help navigate options available to them on and off campus.
  • Committee member of the Celebrating Diversity Taskforce (2008- Present).
  • Co-chair of Arab Heritage Month coordinating numerous educational, social, and political events. Serve on Women’s History Month and help organize numerous campus wide events.
  • Organized and moderated two Interfaith Dialogue Panels.
  • Winner of the MVCC 2017 Celebrating Diversity Award.
  • Board member of the Arab American Action Network, a grass roots community organization dedicated to strengthening the Arab Community in Chicago (2008-Present)
  • Team organizer of the annual Run for Peace which attracts nearly 1,000 community members, students, and staff.
  • Active participant for Team Palestine for PCRF, a charity dedicated to providing medical relief to children (2014-Present).
  • Committee member for the Take on Hate Campaign, Palos Township Chapter, which is committed to addressing discrimination, and stands against hate toward all people
