On Wednesday, July 10, at 12 pm CDT, NISOD will be offering a complimentary webinar to all members.  The webinar, When the “A” Student Checks Out: The Art of Recognizing and Responding to Self-Sabotage in Our Classrooms, will be conducted by Dr. Stacee Reicherzer, a licensed professional counselor-supervisor who writes, speaks, and trains professional and lay audiences about a variety of self-help topics that center on personal discovery and diversity awareness.

The webinar discusses methods that faculty can use to address students’ self-sabotaging behavior and ways to help them recommit to their program of study.

Building a Teacher’s Toolkit and Implementing Practitioner Research

On Thursday, July 11, at 1 pm CDT, NISOD will be offering a complimentary webinar to all members. The webinar, Building a Teacher’s Toolkit and Implementing Practitioner Research, will be conducted by Li-Shih Huang, Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics and LT Scholar-in-Residence at the University of Victoria.

The webinar describes what practitioner research is and discusses how to problem-solve challenges commonly encountered when undertaking it.

Insights to Corequisite Design and Implementation From the Carnegie Math Pathways Network

On Thursday, July 25, at 12 pm CDT, NISOD will be offering a complimentary webinar to all members. The webinar, Insights to Corequisite Design and Implementation From the Carnegie Math Pathways Network, will be conducted by Scott Strother, Lead, Curriculum and Assessment, Carnegie Math Pathways, and Mark Brodsky Partnership Director, Carnegie Math Pathways.

This webinar goes into depth on the details of the preliminary results and includes a discussion with course designers and instructors about the Pathways’ Year 1 implementation experience, lessons learned, and best practices.
