Thanks to strides in technology\, 12 principles of student-centered\, active brain-based methods founded in neuroscience are proven to trigger learning in engaging and exciting ways. Create memorable lessons in any area or subject! Explore brain-based: movement\, five senses\, patterning\, collaboration/secure environment\, parallel processing and peripheral perception; music\, down-time: mid-line breaks\, celebrations\, energizers; visualization\, imagery/relaxed alertness\, and emotions. Your students will benefit from great rewards of engaged\, energized\, on-task\, and active learning. A recent study at Moraine Valley resulted in 13.46 percent performance improvement\, and 71 percent of students preferred brain-based learning. DESCRIPTION:When we first meet a class\, one of the best ways to acclimate students is not to dive straight into a syllabus\, but instead to have an activity. These activities can also be used to start individual course lessons. This session will discuss activities to start a class or a lesson to keep students engaged.
