Make the linked words tell students where they are going.
Select words that describe the destination.
Someone should understand where the link goes when the linked words are read by themselves. If the link opens a file, include the file type when it is useful, for example Course schedule (PDF).
Use the Canvas link tool.
Highlight the descriptive words, then follow Canvas's step-by-step instructions for creating a link in the Rich Content Editor.
Test and correct the link after saving.
Open the saved link and confirm it reaches the intended destination. If the text or destination is wrong, use Canvas's instructions for editing link text and link options.
