Automatic captions are a starting point, not the finished product. Review names, technical terms, punctuation and anything that changes meaning when transcribed incorrectly.
Panopto caption workflow
Open the recording in Panopto's editor.
Open the Captions area and review the generated text.
Play through the recording and correct errors.
Prioritize proper names, discipline-specific terminology, numbers and wording where an error would change meaning.
Publish/save the caption changes.
Captions support students who are deaf or hard of hearing and also help students in noisy or quiet environments, multilingual learners, and anyone who benefits from seeing spoken information in text.
