Research at Google has created a wonderful app called Live Transcribe for Android. The Live Transcribe app allows for creating text from audio, particularly a person’s voice. This tool provides the ability for a verbal individual to communicate with a person who is deaf or hard of hearing.
A deaf or hard of hearing individual can also use the app to read what a person is saying, particularly if the other person does not know sign language or if there is not an interpreter present.
The app is currently only available for Android, however Research at Google has not ruled out bringing it to iOS at some point in the future.
