Enriching the College / Benefiting Students
- Took 11 students to Greece from May 29-June 15th, 2024
- Raised $2700 for student scholarship
- Visited Russia in May/June 2006 on a Fulbright Grant: Held multiple presentations on campus and Traveling Gulag Exhibit in the library
- Soliya Connect: Students engaged in conversations with partner universities across the Middle East and Europe
- Changed curriculum of Illinois and Local History to take students to local sites throughout the area

- In 2008, faculty, staff and students read letters from WWII from my sweet Aunt Bea who lived through the Depression and World War II
- Brought Aunt Bea to campus in 2021 again (who was 102 years old by then!) to talk to my history and sociology students about living through the Depression and World War II
- 2017: Unity Walk on campus in the aftermath of “Muslim ban” and rescinding of DACA
Serving the Community – Service -Learning Projects
- Students in IL and Local History raised money for children at an orphanage in Perm, Russia after Fulbright short-term scholarship
- Multiple visits to Ronald McDonald House (students cooking/preparing meals for family members whose children are in the hospital)
- Students served meals at homeless shelter in Palos Hills (Korean Methodist Church)
- This is Your Life (history students interviewed residents at local assisted –living facilities (Sunrise and Peace Village); residents came to campus to view student projects on their lives
