TRAUMA-INFORMED CAMPUS (CTLF-D105-501)

September 12 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

While trauma is often invisible, its impact can be deeply felt, especially within the academic environments where stress, identity and life challenges often intersect. In this half-day summit, presenters look to equip all members of the Moraine Valley Community (faculty, staff, and employees) with the knowledge and tools to foster a campus culture grounded in awareness, empathy, and inclusivity.
This event underscores the importance of cultivating a sense of belonging, not through the disclosure of personal trauma, but through the intentional, supportive practices that affirm everyone’s dignity and humanity. By understanding what trauma is, how it affects behavior and engagement, and how to respond with compassion and boundaries, we lay the foundation for a campus where everyone person can thrive. Creating trauma informed spaces is not only about responding to harm, but about proactively shaping a community that feels safe, connected, and empowered to grow.
