The Center for Teaching & Learning’s (CTL) primary role is to champion teaching and learning by providing an environment where innovation is encouraged, supported, and rewarded. The CTL helps to support the college’s mission to educate the whole person in a learning-centered environment by providing faculty, adjunct faculty, and staff with a variety of professional development opportunities with the goal to enrich the experience and success of students.
These opportunities occur in a variety of modalities such as workshops, one-on-one consultations, programs, and campus events to enhance teaching, learning, technology, and leadership. We encourage adjunct faculty members to attend workshops. We offer a variety of workshops throughout the year. To learn more about our offerings, visit the Center for Teaching & Learning’s website.
Adjunct Faculty Development Committee
The Adjunct Faculty Development Committee serves in an advisory capacity with respect to matters of adjunct faculty professional development and services. This committee is convened by the college’s Center for Teaching & Learning.
The charge of the Adjunct Faculty Development Committee is to provide insight into the needs, challenges and necessary professional development opportunities as perceived by adjunct faculty members.
Advisory members are recommended by their department chairs to serve on this committee, which meets approximately once per month during the spring and fall semesters. Participation is voluntary. Any inquiries about this committee should be directed to Center for Teaching & Learning at (708) 974-5347.
