About the Moraine Valley Equity Academy
Equity Allies Academy
If you were unable to participate as an Equity Ally over the fall 21 & spring 22 semesters, you can participate in the Equity Allies Academy fully online and asynchronously. The academy will take place over six weeks and has six modules that cover the topics below. Each module has a video and a short quiz. At the end of the six modules Allies will submit a short three-question summative reflection. Upon completion of all academy requirements, Allies will receive a digital certificate and badge.
This academy will cover the following topics:
- What is Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion?
- Foundations of Race and Racism
- Emotional Intelligence
- Microagressions in the Learning / Working Environments
- Managing Stereotypes and Unconscious Biases
- Inclusive Interactions and Pedagogy
