Step 1: Schedule a Meeting
- Log in to Webex: Go to the Webex website (MVConnect > Applications > Webex OR morainevalley.webex.com) and sign in with your credentials.
- Go to Meetings: Click on the “Meetings” tab on the left-hand side.
- Schedule a Meeting: Click on the “Schedule” button.
Step 2: Set Up Meeting Details
- Meeting Name: Enter a name for your meeting, such as “Office Hours”.
- Date and Time: Set the date and time for your office hours. If you want this to be a recurring meeting, select the recurrence pattern.
- Invite Attendees: Leave this blank, as you will share the link later.
Step 3: Enable Waiting Room
- Security Options: Under the “Security” section, enable the “Waiting Room” feature. Under join rules, choose “They wait in the lobby until they’re admitted.”
Step 4: Save and Share the Meeting Link
- Save the Meeting: Click on the “Schedule” button to schedule your meeting.
- Copy the Meeting Link: After saving, you will see the meeting details page. Copy the meeting link provided.
- Share the Link: You can share this link via email, a learning management system (LMS), or any other communication platform you use.
Step 5: Managing the Waiting Room During the Meeting
- Start the Meeting: At the scheduled time, start your meeting by clicking on the meeting link or through the Webex app or website.
- Admit Participants: As participants join, they will be placed in the waiting room. You will receive notifications when someone is waiting. Click on the notification to view the list of participants and admit them individually or all at once.
Step 6: Expel Participants from the Meeting
- Open Participants List: During the meeting, click on the “Participants” button to view the list of attendees.
- Select Participant: Find the participant you want to remove and click on their name.
- Expel Participant: Click on “More options” (usually represented by three dots) next to the participant’s name and select “Expel” to remove them from the meeting.
